A tiny story about jollof rice, São Paulo and timing from my commute notes

I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.

I started this because my winter felt a little stuck, and ethics seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.

Really good advice, and it feels doable.

Big fan of this approach. The a tiny balcony detail changes the whole answer.

The best answer in the thread, honestly.

Really good advice, and it feels doable. I would test it for 8 days before deciding.

This is the kind of useful internet I still show up for. For me it came down to the routine.

Really good advice, and it feels doable. For me it came down to the tiny repair.

The kindness in this post is lovely. That is where the boring checklist helps. Good reminder that tools should serve people, not the reverse.

This has cozy competence written all over it. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me.

This feels like advice from a patient friend. For me it came down to the conversation.

Big fan of this approach. It sounds small, but the setup matters.

Really good advice, and it feels doable. I used to overcomplicate this constantly. This is exactly the kind of tradeoff teams argue about for weeks.

Beautifully concise.

I agree with the goal and disagree with the method. That is the kind of detail beginners miss.

Helpful and not preachy, which is rare.

This feels like advice from a patient friend. I keep a note about prompts for exactly this reason.

@chloe-26 Thanks, that actually helped.

I am skeptical. The idea sounds good, but the maintenance cost is real. The surprising constraint is probably the real story.

Kind of wild how often story is the whole issue.

I laughed, but you are not wrong.

I like the idea, but the setup probably matters a lot. This would have saved me a lot of trial and error. This is exactly the kind of tradeoff teams argue about for weeks.

Good reminder that boring can be good. My friend tried it in Lagos and had the opposite result.

Amazing how much difference one small change can make. My friend tried it in Lisbon and had the opposite result.

The Tuesday test is undefeated.

My first thought was cost, then time, then whether I would remember to do it. This is exactly the kind of tradeoff teams argue about for weeks.

That made the concept click.

This depends heavily on budget, time and personality. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability.

Curious Lantern · 1 likes

That is fair, but I still worry about maintenance.

I laughed, but you are not wrong.

This is the kind of useful internet I still show up for. My only addition is to make the first step visible.

This is genuinely helpful, thanks for writing it out. My friend tried it in Berlin and had the opposite result.
