Today I Learned · by Beatriz Sousa · 2026-10-08

Worth reading if you like culture: Rosetta Stone on a budget

en.wikipedia.org

I started this because my lunch break felt a little stuck, and culture seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.

I tried this in Mumbai with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the route for a while.

Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make Today I Learned feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.

Agree completely. The simple version is underrated. The late summer version is even more interesting.

This sounds sensible, though I would need to test it myself. For me it came down to the practice run.

I am saving this for the next time I overthink worth. I am curious whether science still feels good next month.

Totally agree, especially for beginners.

Can you expand on that a bit?

Helpful correction.

I am skeptical. The idea sounds good, but the maintenance cost is real. I would write it down before changing anything else.

Honestly, this is a little too vague to be useful. This is more useful on a tired rainy evening than on a perfect day.
