A tiny story about lentil soup, Berlin and timing without making it complicated

I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 9 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

The detail that surprised me was how much the corner shop changed the outcome. Same plan, different setting, completely different energy.

Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make Movies feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.

Excellent timing; I was just thinking about tiny. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing.

I had a similar experience, but my problem was consistency rather than motivation. This pairs weirdly well with shakshuka.

You explained the tradeoff really clearly. I would write it down before changing anything else.

@cozy_orbit Thanks for making it less intimidating.

@cozy_orbit The best answer in the thread, honestly.

I needed the reminder to start smaller.

@cozy_orbit Short answer: yes. Long answer: also yes.

@tiny_midnight55 This. Exactly this.

This is the kind of disagreement I like.

@tiny_midnight55 I was going to disagree, but your second sentence got me.

That is a much better way to say it.

What would you change if you started over? The weekend version is even more interesting. Sound design deserves more credit.

What would you change if you started over? The late summer version is even more interesting.

That is a good question for people with more experience than me. I would love to see a follow-up after 3 weeks.

Excellent timing; I was just thinking about tiny. It sounds small, but the routine matters.

@sleepy_runner Now I want a spreadsheet.

The soup angle is what sold me.

Glad you shared it; small wins count. This would have saved me a lot of trial and error. I love when a recommendation comes with the right mood attached.

Thanks, that actually helped.

The context helps. Without it I would have assumed the opposite. I noticed the same thing in Lagos. Sound design deserves more credit.
