What would you do first if you were new to Science when life is busy?

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 6 minutes to prepare I am much more likely to keep doing it.

I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.

The detail that surprised me was how much my desk changed the outcome. Same plan, diffrent setting, completely different energy

A useful way to think about it is mechanism first: what changes, what stays constant, and what evidence would distinguish teh two. You will learn more from a simple version repeated three times than from a perfect plan you never start.

- Start small and make teh next step obvious.
- Keep notes so you can compare what worked.
- Ask someone with recent experience, not just strong opinions.

That should give you a solid first pass
