The ambitious joy of doing the tiny repair badly at first on a budget

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 8 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

The detail that surprised me was how much my desk changed the outcome. Same plan, different setting, completely different energy.

I tried this in Nairobi with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

There is a hidden assumption here that not everyone shares. The the train station detail changes the whole answer.

This is genuinely helpful, thanks for writing it out. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me. The follow-through matters more than the perfect plan.

I wish more posts had this much context. The low-effort version is probably the keeper. I needed this reminder today.

The context helps. Without it I would have assumed the opposite. I would love to see a follow-up after 2 weeks.

The kindness in this post is lovely. I learned that one the expensive way. Small progress still counts.

The context helps. Without it I would have assumed the opposite. The social part surprised me too. This is kinder advice than most of the internet manages.
