Which one wins in real life for absolute beginners
The detail that surprised me was how much the corner shop changed the outcome. Same plan, different setting, completely different energy.
I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.
Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make Hiking feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.
I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 10 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

You explained the tradeoff really clearly. It sounds small, but the conversation matters.

I picked Morning session, mostly because it feels easiest to live with. I keep a note about camping for exactly this reason.

Whenever friends go got my vote. The other choices are good, but this one fits my week. The social part surprised me too.

Surprised more people aren't choosing Weekend only. It seems like the practical answer. The 4-minute rule is underrated.

Not wrong, but I think this underestimates how different people's constraints are. It sounds small, but the conversation matters.

That last line is excellent. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability.

Surprised more people aren't choosing After work. It seems like the practical answer. I would test it for 9 days before deciding.
