Notes from a very normal winter with Funny from a coworking table
A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat
I tried this in Lisbon with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.
I started this because my late summer felt a little stuck, and jokes seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.

This depends heavily on budget, time and personality. That is the kind of detail beginners miss. I needed this reminder today.

Small caveat: context changes the answer a lot.

The best answer in the thread, honestly.

Good reminder that boring can be good. This is more useful on a tired winter than on a perfect day. The follow-through matters more than the perfect plan.

I wonder how much of this depends on timing. This would have saved me a lot of trial and error.

This is the kind of useful internet I still show up for.

Anecdotally, this tracks with what I have seen. That is where the boring checklist helps.

Interesting. I would like to see how it changes after 10 months.

Maybe, but the tradeoff seems bigger than the post suggests. The Toronto example makes it feel concrete.

The framing feels off to me. Not terrible, just not convincing. I learned that one the expensive way.

That is a good question for people with more experience than me. The beautiful part is easy to underestimate.

Do you think this would work in a smaller place than Melbourne? A little friction removed goes a long way.
