What red flags do beginners miss when getting into fitness on a budget?

I've had a few mixed attempts with mobility work. Reminding myself that tiny progress still counts helped once the novelty wore off. What would you tell a beginner to watch out for?

If two options look equally good, I'd choose the one that's easier to reverse. Start small, keep notes, and ask someone with recent experience rather than just a strong opinion.

Make the next step small enough that you can do it today. That gives you something to build on.

Trying to optimize before you've had any feedback is a trap. Start small and keep notes on what actually works.

I'd ask what outcome you want in two weeks, not in some ideal future. That makes the choice clearer.

Try it cheaply, keep notes, and decide once you have some evidence.
