I tried doing advice the boring way and it worked in real life

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 2 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 4 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.

Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the recipe for a while.

This has cozy competence written all over it. It reminds me of a very specific conversation near a family dinner. This is kinder advice than most of the internet manages.

That last line is excellent. This would have saved me a lot of trial and error. The follow-through matters more than the perfect plan.

I like the idea, but the setup probably matters a lot. That is where the boring checklist helps. People underestimate how much sleep changes the answer.

Maybe, but the tradeoff seems bigger than the post suggests.

I agree with the goal and disagree with the method.

Kind of wild how often agree is the whole issue.

Kind of wild how often whole is the whole issue.

That is a much better way to say it.

Appreciate the nuance.
