Why does dinner seem easy for everyone else?

I'm still figuring dinner out, but it got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam. “Tiny progress is still progress” sounds cheesy, but it helped when recipes stopped feeling new. After ten attempts, keeping the setup simple seems to be what gets me to follow through. Anyone else overthink this?

Focus on heat and timing before changing ingredients. Salt early, taste before adding more acid or sweetness, and write down your oven times because every kitchen lies a little. Mostly hard-won experience and comparing notes with people who stuck with it.

Use medium heat and taste as you go. A lot of home cooking problems come down to not enough salt, too much heat, or needing some acid at the end.
