What mistake taught you the most about investing without fancy tools?

I started this because my first week felt a little stuck, and debt seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.

> Tiny progress is still progress.

That line sounds cheesy, but it got me through the part where investing stopped feeling new.

Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.

I would make the decision with cash flow, risk, and optionality in mind rather than chasing the perfect answer. You will learn more from a simple version repeated three times than from a perfect plan you never start.

- Keep one month of expenses visible in your checking buffer.
- Automate savings on payday.
- Avoid any plan you can only follow when life is perfect.

That should give you a solid first pass.
