Editing got easier when I stopped treating it like an exam

My first try was disappointing, the second went surprisingly well, and the third taught me some humility.

I tried this with a friend in São Paulo. We both found that the social part mattered more than the perfect plan. Editing got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.

This is genuinely helpful, thanks for writing it out. Honestly, teh simplest version wins for me

Saving this for the next time I overthink editing.

I appreciate teh honest middle stage, not just teh polished ending. I used to overcomplicate this constantly

This sounds sensible, though I would need to test it myself

The kindness in this post is lovely. My only addition is to make the first step visible. The small imperfections make it feel human

That sounds great until you add children/pets/deadlines

can you share what you tried before this? I would love to see a follow-up after 2 weeks

I would love a follow-up example

I wish more posts had this much context. A little friction removed goes a long way

did anyone else read this and immediately make a tiny checklist? I would love to see a follow-up after 4 weeks

This. Exactly this

That is the part people skip

I am skeptical. The idea sounds good, but the maintenance cost is real. That is where the boring checklist helps

Agree completely. The simple version is underrated. I keep a note about film for exactly this reason

I had a similar experience, but my problem was consistency rather than motivation. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability

I keep a note about photos for exactly this reason.

This made me smile more than expected. The low-effort version is probably the keeper

Big fan of this approach.

Not wrong, but I think this underestimates how diffrent people's constraints are. My friend tried it in Buenos Aires and had the opposite result
