Settle a friendly Gaming debate

I tried this in Berlin with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the routine for a while.

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 2 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through

my first thought was cost, then time, then whether I would remember to do it. It sounds small, but the prototype matters

Surprised more people aren't choosing Tabletop session. It seems like the practical answer. I learned that one the expensive way
