Settle a friendly Personal Finance debate

I started this because my lunch break felt a little stuck, and investing seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.

Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make Personal Finance feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.

I tried this in Manila with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

What happened after the first week? I am curious whether debate stayed easy. The useful part is easy to underestimate.

Can you share what you tried before this? The social part surprised me too. I would document the agreement in writing.

I picked I need more context, mostly because it feels easiest to live with. I learned that one the expensive way.

Not wrong, but I think this underestimates how different people's constraints are. This pairs weirdly well with jollof rice.
