I am saving this for the next time I overthink upgrade. The Lisbon example makes it feel concrete.

Mildly negative take: the simple version is sometimes just underexplained. I noticed the same thing in Berlin.

The kindness in this post is lovely. The beautiful part is easy to underestimate.

I think this advice is overrated. My only addition is to make the first step visible. I like that it feels lived-in instead of over-polished.

Great point, especially the part about effort. For me it came down to the tiny repair.

That is a surprisingly elegant way to frame it. This is more useful on a tired first week than on a perfect day. The small imperfections make it feel human.

I do not have a strong take, but the upgrade detail is useful. For me it came down to the tiny repair. Great use of light and restraint.

I do not have a strong take, but the effort detail is useful. I used to overcomplicate this constantly.
