I changed one thing and suddenly java made sense with an ambitious constraint

Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the routine for a while.

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 3 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

This feels like advice from a patient friend. The 6-minute rule is underrated.

I am stealing that phrase.

Can you expand on that a bit?

I would pin this if I could.

Great point, especially the part about sense. This pairs weirdly well with lentil soup.

I needed the reminder to start smaller.

Totally agree, especially for beginners.

Excellent timing; I was just thinking about constraint. My friend tried it in Madrid and had the opposite result.

Useful intention, poor execution. I would love to see a follow-up after 9 weeks. This is exactly the kind of tradeoff teams argue about for weeks.

I am cheering for this update. A little friction removed goes a long way. Naming things remains undefeated as the hardest problem.

Fair point, but I had the opposite experience. I am curious whether tools still feels good next month. Naming things remains undefeated as the hardest problem.

Yep, the boring details matter.

I laughed, but you are not wrong.

That is a surprisingly elegant way to frame it. I keep a note about java for exactly this reason.

Good clarification — I read it differently at first.

Wonderful detail. It makes the whole thing feel real. I learned that one the expensive way.

Big fan of this approach. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me.

Amazing how much difference one small change can make. I learned that one the expensive way.

Did anyone else read this and immediately make a tiny checklist? It sounds small, but the setup matters.

This has cozy competence written all over it. I am curious whether learning still feels good next month.

I agree with the goal and disagree with the method. The 9-minute rule is underrated.

This feels like advice from a patient friend. This is more useful on a tired rainy evening than on a perfect day.
