A beginner mistake I am weirdly glad I made on a budget

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 6 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

The context helps. Without it I would have assumed the opposite. My friend tried it in Toronto and had the opposite result.

I am skeptical. The idea sounds good, but the maintenance cost is real. A little friction removed goes a long way.
