He replies "k." with the full stop

Been talking to this guy for three weeks (24F, Edinburgh). In person he's lovely and chatty. Over text he's... efficient. I sent him a long message about my day, my flatmate's cat getting stuck in the bathroom and the fire alarm going off at 3am. His reply: "k."

With the full stop. I showed my mum and even she said "oh no."

When I asked him about it he said "it means I read it?" and genuinely seemed confused why that's bad. Am I being dramatic or is "k." a crime

I think he's just bad at text, especially if he's great in person. Some people think text is for logistics only. Beige flag
